13 Spring Coloring Pages (Free PDF Downloads)

By Zen Vibes Editors · Published

Spring pages here cover the season itself; Easter has its own group under holidays. Expect rain boots and puddles, a branch with new buds, a robin on a fence, lambs and ducklings, kites, a watering can beside seedlings, and a couple of full garden scenes. Single-object pages that a preschooler can finish in minutes sit next to fuller scenes for older kids.

Most designs are portrait, but the garden and meadow scenes are landscape so they can spread across the page. Both are supplied in US Letter and A4, so print whichever matches your paper.

How to print these pages

  1. Pick the paper size that matches what is in your printer: US Letter or A4.
  2. Open the PDF and choose Print. Set scale to 100 percent or “actual size” (not “fit to page”).
  3. Plain copy paper works for crayons and pencils. Use heavier cardstock for markers or paint.

Print at actual size on plain copy paper. Landscape-format scenes are provided in both paper sizes.

Spring colors that look right

Spring greens are lighter and yellower than summer greens, so if a child has a "lime" or "light green" in the box, that is the one for new leaves. Skies in these scenes are meant to stay pale; leave a little white in the clouds rather than filling every gap.

Classroom pairing

The budding-branch and seedling pages line up with early plant-science lessons, and the rain pages make an easy lead-in to talking about the water cycle. For a bulletin board, print the meadow scene for each student and let the class decide together what colors the flowers should be.

Ideas for using these pages

  • Spring walk: color the budding-branch page, then go outside and find one real branch with new leaves.
  • Rain sounds: color the rain-boots page while listening to a recording of rain, then talk about what spring rain does for plants.
